A New Perspective…

Last night was our last "Perspectives" class.  A little background – we’ve been attending this class – officially called, "Perspectives on the World Christian Movement" at an old church in Mt. Vernon every Sunday night from 6:30 – 9:30 for the past 15 weeks.  We’ve also been taking it for a "certificate", which means we have homework to do every week that consists of several hours of reading and numerous vague and poorly written questions to answer.  But, I would HIGHLY recommend joining a class if every you are so lucky.  Just as the name implies, your "perspective" on missions will be drastically altered.  Not that everyone will become career missionaries, but you will come to learn that missions didn’t just start with what we call "The Great Commission" of Jesus ("Go, therefore and make disciples of all nations,…" Mt 28:19).  But God has been at work, calling a people to Himself since Abraham.  And, He’s not calling just the Shiite Christians to missions, but all of us.  What better life to live, than one that is spent actively engaged in advancing the Kingdom?  Again, that doesn’t mean everyone goes, but it does mean that more should.
Alright, this concludes your free overview of "Perspectives".  Do yourself a favor and get into a class…
